The Scotland A9 Major Project

The Scotland A9 Major Project

The Challenge

The major A9 Project in the Scottish Highlands, this shoot set out to capture some of Lynch's equipment operating in a live infrastructure environment. The challenge was to document powerful machinery in motion across an active, high-profile road corridor, balancing safety, access restrictions, unpredictable Highland weather, and the need to minimise disruption to ongoing works. Coordinating closely with site managers and operators, we worked within tight operational windows to ensure every shot authentically reflected the pace, precision, and professionalism of the team on site.

Our Goals

Filmed on the iconic A9 road in the Scottish Highlands, our goal was to create engaging marketing content for L Lynch Plant Hire that showcased their fleet in action on a major infrastructure project. We focused on capturing authentic, high-impact visuals that highlighted the scale of the works and the professionalism of the Lynch team. By combining cinematic landscape shots with dynamic footage of machinery in operation, the final film delivers a powerful brand asset. It positions Lynch as a reliable, forward-thinking partner and provides versatile content for use across digital, social, and sales platforms.

The Creative Approach

With a single videographer on site, the focus was on agility and momentum. Working efficiently within the live environment of the A9 road project, we used dynamic handheld movement, tracking shots, and low-angle perspectives to create a strong sense of energy and scale around L Lynch Plant Hire’s fleet in action. By staying mobile and responsive to operations as they unfolded, we were able to capture authentic, powerful moments without disrupting the workflow. The result is a fast-paced, immersive film that brings intensity and impact to Lynch’s brand presence.

Production Highlights

To maximise visual impact within a streamlined setup, production combined aerial drone footage with ground-level gimbal work on the A9 road project. Drone shots established the scale of the site and surrounding Highland landscape, giving context to the breadth of operations and the size of L Lynch Plant Hire’s fleet. On the ground, stabilised gimbal movement allowed for smooth tracking alongside machinery, capturing power and precision in motion. This combination of sweeping aerials and controlled, dynamic ground shots created a balanced, cinematic result while maintaining efficiency with a compact production setup.
